EVENTS ROUNDUP: DEC 2021 + 2022

Torture Garden has maintained its pre-Christmas tradition of publishing a full set of dates for the whole of the following year, which subsequently takes up the vast majority of this feature’s UK listings space!

Below, we’ve included all TG’s principle themed events, but have omitted half a dozen of its smaller monthly nights happening mostly at Electrowerkz between March and September.

Note that 2022’s TG events include three boat party dates still to be confirmed, plus three Edinburgh parties. TG events outside the UK are listed further down, under the countries where they take place.

We’ve included a mention for ZDR’s much-postponed Paradise Hills party, which until a few days ago was scheduled for late January but has now been put on ice until June. There’s also a provisional date for the next Le Boutique Bazaar awaiting confirmation.  

Our very first 2022 European listing – for January’s ManiFest Ball in Copenhagen — was cancelled just as we were preparing to put this article live.

We’ve kept it in out of sympathy, knowing that it might be the first cancellation in this section but almost certainly won’t be the last, given how Omicron is now sweeping across Europe.

Given the quasi-lockdown in the Netherlands, it’s quite possible Amsterdam’s Boudoir Bizarre in late January might be the next European date to succumb.

This party’s ‘next event’ has already been postponed six times since the first lockdown — as illustrated by its flyer showing six previous dates crossed out — and now hopes of a  ‘lucky seven’ might also be dashed.

February’s Torture Garden Berlin might be another date that doesn’t go ahead.

It is still technically ‘on’ after last December was cancelled, but the organiser tells us it’s currently “looking less likely to happen”, and is not being actively promoted for that reason.

We hear that July is being looked at for a possible replacement date, while two new TG Berlin dates have been scheduled for September and December.

The plan when normality returns is to stage three TG Berlin nights a year, taking place each February, September and December.

New Budapest party Luxuria is set to return in late March, hopefully confirming Hungary as a new international fetish destination.

Meanwhile, in May, Hungary’s eastern neighbour Romania will accommodate a week of celebrations in Transylvania co-hosted by Endless Night’s Father Sebastiaan.

Marking the 125th anniversary of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, this is something a bit different for the blood brothers and sisters to consider!

We also welcome to our listings Club Abzint, a new name to us from Sweden — especially as Stockholm’s legendary Dekadance parties appear to be on hold until further notice.   

You might think Torture Garden has already hogged enough of these listings, but we can’t be expected to ignore the fact that in May 2022, TG is set to do its first Las Vegas party – hosted locally by the people behind TG LA.

Torture Garden’s debut in the self-styled entertainment capital of the world is bound to be memorable… as long as it is able to go ahead!

At the end of the same month, Fetish Factory aims to finally bring us the 25th anniversary weekend it has been scheduling and then having to cancel for the last couple of years.

TG New York is also set to reappear during June’s NY Pride — as long as NY Pride itself is able to take place.

Three of Father Sebastiaan’s big Endless Night vampire events are set for Salem MA (Jan), Los Angeles (Feb) and New Orleans (Oct), while US industry gatherings DomCon and FetishCon are due to return to LA and Tampa Bay in May and August respectively.

Across the border in Canada, the country’s two big weekends, Vancouver Fetish Weekend and Montreal Fetish Weekend, are scheduled for late July and early September on the west and east coasts respectively.

Australia is bracing itself for the Oz Kink Fest in Melbourne, over eleven days in March.

Meanwhile the Plunge Caribbean fetish vacation returns to the Dominican Republic for eight days starting in late February.
