Charmskool House is an exclusive one-off event taking place at a secret venue in London’s Soho on Saturday September 14, during London Fashion Week.
Bringing together a selection of creators and educators in eight spaces on four floors of a unique, soon-to-be-demolished building in the heart of Soho, the event aims to provide an immersive, social gathering spotlighting the diverse talents within our kink and alternative communities.
Devised by Alexandra Houston, founder of Wasted Chic and Charmskool Shop — the online spin-off from the Le Boutique Bazaar pop-up market Houston co-founded with Torture Garden — Charmskool House is co-presented by Lover Management, the talent management company and creative agency specialising in intimacy and the erotic.
With art installations, photography exhibitions, screenings, demonstrations, interactive activities and a makers’ market featuring spicy fashion and art, the event, running from 6pm to 12am, is curated by Matt Skully with bar soundtrack by Jamie Moon.
Featured Charmskool House attractions include:
Photography exhibited by Darren Black, Sorry Jonny Died and Miss Gold
The Art of Spanking — dynamic, interactive, educational workshop by Sophie Cohen
Films and video installations by Unruly Affair, showcasing plus size bodies in kink, and No Nothing Inc
Lover Management Cinema and panel talk, featuring public submissions + Four Chambers films
Live portrait painting by Inky Layla
Fetish flash tattoos by Dexter Kay, designed specifically for the event
A Charmskool market featuring toys, art and fashion from Charmskool Shop’s handmade kink brands and queer artisans.
The Charmskool House event is promised to be inclusive, fetish and sex-positive adjacent, supporting sex workers, and celebrating people within the kink community.
There is no compulsory dresscode but guests are encouraged to arrive in their fetish finery: latex, leather and other extravagant or provocative fashions are all welcome.
Capacity is limited due to the quirky nature of the building, so advance booking is advisable to ensure you grab a space. Tickets are available from Dice.fm (link below).
On the day of this article’s publication (September 2), Early Bird and Second Release tickets had sold out but Third Release tickets were still available at £31.50.
When these sell out, the General Release ticket price will be £36.

What Charmskool’s Alexandra Houston is up to next…
To tie in with Charmskool House, we’ll be publishing an in-depth interview with Alexandra Houston in which she’ll talk about her journey through alternative retailing and event hosting.
This will take us from Wasted Chic through the establishment of Le Boutique Bazaar in partnership with Torture Garden and the subsequent launch of her online marketplace Charmskool Shop, which has been dubbed ‘the cooler and kinkier version of Etsy’.
And speaking of Etsy, Alexandra will also share more on her views about that very platform’s recent decision to dump many sellers of sex toys and printed or visual materials intended for sexual arousal or stiumluation — a move that saw a Guardian Business Section story quoting the Charmskool founder’s response to it at length back in July.
Our Alexandra Houston feature will also include a preview of the upcoming Le Boutique Bazaar event set for October 6
in London, as well as a peek at Charmskool’s exciting international debut in New York City with Charmed Weekend, set for October 10-13!
