The Sunday Slick: a fresh take on shopping, shows and socialising
MAY COVER STORY: As promised in our March teaser, London’s new afternoon/evening event The Sunday Slick, co-hosted by Torture Garden and Charmskool, makes its debut at LBB’s old (but now refurbished) venue For Your Eyes Only on Sunday May 10. Running from 1pm to 10:30pm, it will be a combination of elements – social event, fashion market, workshops, fashion shows, performances, portrait photography and painting – with an early evening party. Our preview includes the full day’s schedule and list of vendors. Banner image: The Sunday Slick hosts Charlotte and Alexandra by @chasingthetigers
On Sunday May 10 in London, Torture Garden and Charmskool will launch The Sunday Slick, the successor event to Le Boutique Bazaar.
It takes place at LBB’s recently refurbished venue FYEO (For Your Eyes Only) at 23 City Road, London EC1Y 1AG (tube: Old Street).
Described as part social, part fashion market, part workshops/performances, and part early-evening party, the event will retain features of LBB that regulars said they most missed after its final outing in late 2024, while adding new elements that will confirm it as a fresh take on Sunday get-togethers.
Say co-hosts Charlotte TG and Alexandra Houston of Charmskool (pictured in top banner): “We’ve missed having a Sunday social — a space that allows catch-ups and connections without the intensity and all-night commitment of a nightclub.
“We felt it was time for something fresh that still includes curated independent fashion but, in an era where not everyone is wanting to shop, also offers so much more — a full package worth dressing up and leaving the house for.”
The Sunday Slick will, say the duo, facilitate
the return of “the ritual of dressing up in daylight, meeting friends, being seen, browsing, flirting, and still getting home before midnight”.
Its extended hours from 1pm to 10.30pm will, they promise, provide enough time “to dress up, to connect and to dance”, without compromising the need to also hit the ground running on Monday morning.
Since LBB closed its doors, the FYEO venue has had a dramatic facelift, which you may have already experienced at the two-day fetish fair curated by Charmskool during the new Fetish Weekend London that took place this Easter.
The facelift has provided the old LBB home with new flooring, new toilets, working accessibility lift and all-new stage and bar areas. Admittedly, this has reduced the floor space originally available for stallholders in the LBB days.
But it will still house around 20 carefully selected independent designers, who’ll be providing browsing and shopping opportunities from 1pm to 6:30pm. After that, most of the stalls (those in the main Market Room) will be cleared and the music turned up to create more of a party vibe with DJs and performances.

The Sunday Slick debut event on May 10 features tiered ticketing with three advance price levels. Tickets will also be available on the door, but are cheaper if bought in advance.
Early Entry (1pm-3pm): £15.66. There is currently a DICE waiting list for these tickets, which are for those who want to browse the stalls before things get busy.
Anytime Entry (1pm–8:30pm): £22.70. This gets you in any time up to doors closing at 8:30pm.
Late Entry (6pm–8:30pm): £13.60. For those more interested in the party and social elements than the shopping opportunities.
The hosts believe this event will be perfect for newbies or those looking to dip a toe in. They say: “If coming to a full-scale event feels a bit overwhelming or you’re looking to meet new people, this is the perfect introduction to our world.”
Dressing up in your fetish finery for The Sunday Slick is strongly encouraged by the event’s co-hosts. However, there is no enforced dresscode. It is also, they wish to make clear, not “a play party, a late night rave, a giant market, a casual/social munch or Sunday lunch with your nan”!
