Jim Weathers’ High Gloss Rope: Bondage Café book now funding
High Gloss Rope is the new book from Bondage Café supremo Jim Weathers, currently funding on Kickstarter. The initial funding target has already been exceeded by about 50% so it’s guaranteed to be published! Since 1999, Weathers has been creating highly stylised, intricate bondage imagery with top American models like Dita Von Teese and Mosh, who features in our banner image from the book. Some juicy rewards have been on offer to those who pledge support during the Kickstarter campaign, which ends on April 3. Tony Mitchell offers some reasons why you might like to grab a piece of the action…

Jim Weathers, the man behind uniquely classy bondage glamour website Bondage Café, is currently hosting Kickstarter funding for his new book, High Gloss Rope, with a campaign that runs until April 03.
At time of this article’s publication, the campaign target of $10,000 (approx £7,500) had already been exceeded by almost 50 percent, which should mean there’s no danger the book won’t get published!
However, if you’re interested in the rewards on offer for pledging support for the campaign — and there are some pretty juicy ones — it’s worth considering committing while the Kickstarter campaign is still running.
High Gloss Rope, which will be published in Standard and Deluxe hardcover editions, is a follow-up to Jim’s last book, High Gloss Glam, which featured some of his favourite cheesecake images.
This time, however, he’s focusing on what he’s best known for: exquisitely executed scenarios featuring many of America’s most photogenic bondage models dressed to the nines in latex, leather, corsets, nylons and their highest heels, and all tied up in intricate, inescapable ropework (with a smattering of other restraints also featured for good measure).
The new book details images by Jim spanning his entire career, from 1999 to the present day, and will present his beautifully-styled full-colour images in a 230 x 300mm (9 x 12in) coffee table format.
High Gloss Rope features all the women Bondage Café fans have come to expect from Jim’s work: Andrea Neal, Angela Sommers, Ashley Lane, Candle Boxxx, Cherie DeVille, Christina Carter, Dee Williams, Dita Von Teese, Emily Addison, Emily Marilyn, Karlie Montana, Kendra James, Laurie Wallace, Kobe Lee, Randy Moore, Sara Liz and Skylar West, to name a few.
Because of the UK’s online publishing restrictions, we’ve limited the type of images used in this article to represent the
book’s content. So for example, we have not included any images featuring gags. But if you visit the book’s Kickstarter page, you can see a slideshow of selected pages from the book where the absence of gags is not noticeable!
Also, the banner image over this article is a cropped and slightly retouched version of one of Jim’s famous images of the legendary Mosh, from the shoot they did as a tribute to John Willie’s famous bondage cartoon heroine Sweet Gwendoline. You’ll find the full image in the Kickstarter gallery, and you can be sure that the images in the book itself are all completely uncensored.
The range of pledges that will get you a book — and potentially a lot more —start at $55 (about £42) for just an author-signed copy of High Gloss Rope, and range up to $99 (about £75) for a copy signed by Jim and various models including Dita, plus various add-ons such as a Dita Von Teese print and fridge magnet.
For the same $99 pledge value, you could, alternatively, grab yourself a two-in-one deal comprising both High Gloss Rope and High Gloss Glam together.
Not all the variations and optional add-ons are immediately clear from the Kickstarter text, but Jim has assured me that if you decide to pledge, any optional add-ons still available will be offered to you at checkout.
Both the model-signed and Dita-signed editions are limited Deluxe offerings, and when they’re gone, they’re gone — which they may already be by the time you read this.

LATEX and hosiery are regular features of the wardrobe worn by Jim Weathers’ models
Any reward can be shipped anywhere in the world, but the shipping cost is additional to the stated pledge amount. We understand that the 128pp book, which will weigh in at around 2lb (a little under 1kg), could cost as much as $50 to ship to the UK or Europe. Books should be ready to ship in May.
