Avantgardista update: more brands and shows join Munich weekend.
Avantgardista update: 17 designers are now scheduled to show their new collections on the catwalk at the debut of this Munich event on the second weekend of November.
Our cover atticle anticipated that the shows on Saturday November 11 would start considerably earlier than the originally announced time of 9pm.
For this Avantgardista update we can now confirm that the shows will in fact start at 7pm and will run in two blocks. Which, reckons organiser SubRosaDictum, will allow “enough time in between for a fresh glass of champagne or prosecco”.
Our preview listed 16 participating designers. The 17th name now added to that original list is Arcane Accessories, the chainmail jewellery specialist from Bad Homburg.
This means the full roster of participants in the shows at the time of this Avantgardista update is as follows:
Arcane Accessories, baal couture & fashion, benno von stein, Chiracc Couture, Chronomatic Latex, Cold Cocaïned Heart, ExxEss Latex, Fernando Berlin, Fetish Fantaisies, Franklin Tavares, GlanzGlück, Inner Sanctum, Jazzy Fashion, Maniac Latex, Rubbella, Savage Wear, and Shitake.
The outfits will be presented by well-known models from the scene as well as professional models from around the world. Currently, more than 80 of these fashionistas are registered to take part.
The shows’ host is the event’s flyer model, Fräulein Katzentanz (above), who’ll be accompanied by jet-setting kinkster Ian Dutton from New York.
Here, designers will exhibit selected pieces in a gallery-style setting. They’ll have time to answer questions about patterns and garment-making, and can take measurements for orders. Pieces displayed in the showroom will also be available to buy and take home that day.
Newly added with this Avantgardista update are several creators of smaller objets — such as the goldsmiths of Goldpiercingart. Also on display in the Showroom will be photography by Carnivore Pictures (Swen Brandy), plastic paintings by Frederik Eckenheim and pictures by Melanie Jörns.
If all that were not enough, between 5pm and 7pm, Susanne Wendel, Germany’s lively health expert, will present — and give away 100 signed copies of — her bestseller Gesundgevögelt in 12 Wochen.
The book’s title translates as Shag Your Way to Health in 12 Weeks. But there’s no news yet on whether the presentation will involve the author practising any of what she preaches.
Saturday finishes with an edition of SubRosaDictum’s Space Intruders full dresscode fetish party, kicking off at 10pm. And for those with any energy and/or appetite left, the first Avantgardista weekend closes with a brunch from 10am on Sunday 12.
