London Tattoo Convention hits town this weekend.
The International London Tattoo Convention convenes for its 11th edition this coming weekend at the historic Tobacco Dock exhibition centre in London E1.
This year will see well over 400 of the finest, most talented, elite tattoo artists converging on the event’s Docklands venue, situated midway between the northern approaches to Tower Bridge and the Rotherhithe Tunnel.
Organiser Tattoo Life Publication proudly claims that nowhere else will in the world will you find such accomplished skin-inkers as TV stars Megan Massacre (NY Ink and America’s Worst Tattoos), Tim Hendricks (NY Ink) and Phil Kyle (London Ink) all working under one roof at the same time.
Don Ed Hardy, a living legend on the international tattoo scene, has accepted the invitation to exhibit his work for the first time at this year’s International London Tattoo Convention.
Multiple Hardy Marks will showcase his multifaceted artistic career, which over many years has embraced every medium from engraving to ceramics, oil painting, acrylics and watercolours.
Acclaimed fire-breathing tattooed acrobatic dance troupe The Fuel Girls will return to star as resident performers on the Main Stage, alongside a diverse host of amazing burlesque, sword swallowing, striptease and trapeze performers.
Performers who are also well known on the fetish scene include Yusura (pictured in our main banner at her first London Tattoo Con back in 2010), Červená Fox, Shelly d’Inferno and Sweden’s Elegy Ellem.
The finals of the Miss Pinup UK and Miss Pinup International will be held and judged over the three days of the convention. Also promised is a ‘massive marketplace’ with a ‘huge range of kit’ that you ‘definitely won’t find in the UK’s high streets’.
Alongside the convention’s customary range of food and drink will be Brewdog Brewery with its wide range of craft beers, and a massive real ale and cider bar.
The Hard Rock Café will also have its own Rock Bar at The International London Tattoo Convention 2015, offering Hard Rock cocktails and merchandise.
Last but not least will be the spectacle many of the event’s visitors competing in the various tattoo contest categories, to win titles such as Best Tribal, Best Backpiece, Best Black & Grey, Best Colours and Best of Show.
The 11th International London Tattoo Convention takes place on September 25-27 at Tobacco Dock, 50 Porters Walk, London E1W 2SF (nearest station: Shadwell Overground and Rail).
Advance tickets cost £20 for Friday, £30 for Saturday, £25 for Sunday or £60 for a weekend pass, available from the Convention website below. Admission for visitors under 14 is free if accompanied by an adult.
