Coffee Cake and Kisses launch Kickstarter campaign
Coffee, Cake and Kisses was unveiled yesterday, Valentine’s Day, as the name of the new fusion concept for London from the founders of Coffee, Cake & Kink.
As predicted in our earlier news story (see link below), the project has officially launched with a Kickstarter campaign to fund its first London premises.
Running for a month until March 14, the campaign aims to raise £35,000 — enough to enable it to touch down in central London and offer a reliable supply of artisan coffee, finger-licking cakes and, indeed, kisses!
With everything for sale except its staff, Coffee, Cake & Kisses will celebrate bonds between people, and quality relationships of all kinds.
It will keep the diversity and inclusion ethos of Coffee, Cake & Kink, as well as much of the original store’s merchandise while also making difficult concepts more accessible to the general public.
With a firm focus on relationships both traditional and alternative, Coffee, Cake and Kisses aims to provide a comfortable, non-judgmental space for the exploration of all things carnal and cerebral, inclusive and welcoming of all genders, sexualities, relationship models and lifestyles.
Staff training will include brewing methods, home baking and kissing tips and tricks, all to be shared with customers. Books, art, cards, and gifts available for sale will range from coffee equipment to cookery books to gender politics, polyamory and sex education.
An eclectic line-up of events will embrace anything from bake dates to erotic story-telling to sensuous body painting workshops. As an added twist, everything you will see in store — from coffee equipment to furnishings to lighting — will also be available for sale.

The Kickstarter campaign has been put together in response to the community consultation that took place in January, introducing the idea of the new brand inspired by Coffee, Cake & Kink but separate from it.
CCK’s founders have emphasised the need for the two businesses to be seen as standalone brands as conflating them may “negatively impact the chances of Coffee, Cake and Kisses securing its prospective premises”.
The many rewards available to backers include savings on future food and drink as well as events, experiences, art and naughty collectibles that are only available in the course of the Kickstarter campaign.
The bottom line to all this is that the fate of a new community space in London is in your hands!
