Munich’s BoundCon XVII bondfest moves from May 2021 to June ’22.
BoundCon XVII, the big annual Munich bondage and fetish fest scheduled for May 2021, has just been postponed for a second time and is now moving to June 2022.
The announcement follows the recent move of Berlin’s German Fetish Ball Weekend to a provisional August slot and the move of Essen’s Easter Fetish Meeting to Easter 2022.
The new dates for Boundcon XVII — June 10-12, 2022 — have been deliberately chosen, says new owner/organiser Minuit, to avoid the clashes with Wave-Gotic-Treffen and the GFB that happened in earlier years.
“It is important,” she says, “that all events can be visited and that exhibitors and artists have many platforms so that we can recover from the long dry spell.
“I have given a lot of thought to the topic of ‘celebrating at BoundCon XVII’, she continues. “A BoundCon needs closeness, intimacy and human contact.
“Without closeness, it is inconceivable that BoundCon would become BoundCon as we know and love it.
“The scene meets, falls into each other’s arms, the ropes are tied and games are played until the air crackles, dancing and the most beautiful outfits are celebrated.
“People go shopping, eat and drink together, attend workshops and continue to celebrate and enjoy together in the hotel.
“The start of a new BoundCon era must not take place in the shadow of pandemic,” she adds. “It deserves glitz and glamour!
“The health of the people is paramount. I am not just saying this. I have seen a lot of suffering on the corona front in the hospital.”
The 2022 BoundCon XVII programme will retain the traditional three-day format which includes the big SubRosaDictum Saturday night party at the Kohlebunker and Kesselhaus venues adjacent to the main convention space.
Meanwhile two 2021 events are still in the planning stage. Details for the first — BoundCon Online, to be held in May 2021 — are expected soon.
The second — BoundCon Meets Avantgardista (SubRosaDictum’s fetish fashion weekend in Munich) — is provisionally set for October 2021. But whether Avantgardista goes ahead will depend on how things progress with the pandemic.
All tickets bought for BoundCon 2020 remain valid as vouchers for the next date. If you are unable to attend in 2022, contact the organiser for a refund or credit for admission to BoundCon 2023.
If you reserved hotel rooms, contact the hotel directly to cancel or change them.
Meanwhile, a BoundCon Family chat group has been set up at Discord.com.
