ABOUT THE WORK
This is the music video for Dorian Reland’s single Life Is Hard, an uplifting anthem to the generation that is “battling for their dreams and trying to figure where their place is in this world”.
The video flirts with the line between mainstream and subculture, belonging to both worlds, as Dorian — originally from Geneva but now London-based
— regards himself is a child of both.
It is set in The Bunker, an alternative subterranean space in London, and portrays the singer-songwriter escaping into the fantasy he has created to cope with reality and his failures.
The video also sets out, adds Dorian, to be a love letter to the fetish community.
