Londonedge welcomes Seoul’s fetish-inspired Maison Chardon label.
Londonedge, the alt-fashion fair taking place in Islington on February 12 and 13, sees fetish-inspired label Maison Chardon joining its exhibitor ranks for the first time this Sunday.
She has been making her own stage costumes since 2012. Prompted by people who saw her shows in Seoul and Tokyo (where she mainly performs) and began requesting custom orders, she set up the label with close friend (and now business partner) Siel Chung.
Until very recently, custom work was the label’s main source of income, explains the designer.
“We work with burlesque performers, dancers, drag queens — corsets to cinch those queens are the hit — and private clients, while also being featured in some Korean movies and worn by K-pop groups.”
But Maison Chardon now also has five collections under its belt and its clothes are available in stores For Your Pleasure in Tokyo and House of Devour in Los Angeles as well as through its website (right).
With all this and its use of opulent fabrics and beautiful craftsmanship, this label’s creations will surely set many a kinky fashionista’s heart racing.
The brand will be on the Londonedge runway at the Business Design Centre, Upper Street, London, N1 0QH this Sunday and Monday.
The firm will also be available for appointments via the Organisers’ Office throughout the London show.
