Ex-Dominatrix documentary in crowdfunding countdown.
Ex-Dominatrix: A True Story is a feature-length fetish-scene documentary coming soon from London-based Darren Cavanagh, a creative director in the film advertising and marketing world.
Five years in the making, his commercial feature debut tells the story of Ira, a woman once described in the press as ‘Europe’s most perverted dominatrix’.
As Antwerp’s Mistress Lucrezia, she was without doubt one of Europe’s most famous — and extreme — dominas.
But in 2010 her world was turned upside down by the death at her dungeon of a high-profile British client. She was arrested, locked up and subjected to scandalous treatment by the tabloid press.
Eventually she was freed without charge and spent time travelling around Europe before moving to the Indian coastal state of Goa, where she currently lives.
Cavanagh’s friendship with Ira, plus fetish scene associations going back a long way, guarantee that this
doc will show our scene in a sympathetic light. He has invested a lot of his own money in it over the past five years, but now he needs to raise some additional funds to complete the project in time for an autumn release.
So June 1 sees the launch of a crowdfunding campaign to put that final chunk of finance in place. Hosted at Indiegogo.com, the campaign will offer inducements, ranging from pre-orderable downloads and DVDs to latex outfits including the one worn by Ira on the film’s poster, to those who pledge support.
Look out for the full story, complete with lots of great new pictures of Ira, coming up on The Fetishistas at the start of June.
