Steve Diet Goedde: London dates in June to promote Extempore.
Steve Diet Goedde, the celebrated Los Angeles fetish photographer, visits London in June to meet fans and promote his new book Extempore — writes Tony Mitchell.
Goedde will appear at three London venues on three consecutive nights — Wednesday, Thursday and Friday June 18, 19 and 20.
The first of the Goedde London dates will be a meet ’n’ greet and book signing in Camden at FAB London in Camden Stables Basement Market, from 18:00 to 21:00 on Wednesday 18.
Hosted by FAB owner Max Deviant and his partner, latex burlesque queen Marnie Scarlet, this free-admission event will be lubricated by Italian wine and promises to attract plenty of the couple’s large circle of fetish celeb friends and customers.
Extempore will be available for purchase on the night, as indeed will the rest of FAB’s stock, which includes latex and other fetish clothing, high heels, accessories and equipment from well-known designers.
Thursday 19 sees Steve in Cecil Court bookstore Tenderbooks, just off Charing Cross Road, between 18:00 and 20:00. Co-hosted by Circa Press, the second of these Goedde London dates will be complemented by a week-long Extempore window display.
Though not a fetish book store per se, Tenderbooks is ‘fetish friendly’. Some years ago I covered the launch there of Jonny Trunk’s Best of AtomAge book – an event that generated an enormous amount of interest.
At the Extempore launch, there will again be drinks, and you might even catch me introducing Steve. We’ve been friends and collaborators since his first ever magazine spread in Skin Two in the early 1990s.
The trio of Goedde London dates finishes in style on Friday 19 with a party at Resistance Gallery in Bethnal Green from 19:00 to midnight offering your last chance to get a signed copy of the book.
For this free event hosted by Kat Toronto and Garry Vanderhorne, guests are encouraged to don their finest latex and fetishwear ensembles to enjoy an evening of ‘fetish, fire and fashion’.
Shows will start at 20:30 with a fire performance by the inimitable Talulah Blue, followed by a sumptuous latex fashion show by London latex designer Nina Doroushi.
Steve’s photographs will be projected throughout the evening and LatexFashionTV will interview him.
Copies of Extempore will be available to purchase (with FAB’s Max Deviant handling sales) and Steve will be sitting down to sign books after the show.
Stick around afterwards for schmoozing and drinks from the cash bar.
