OCTOBER VIDEO SPECIAL: GERMAN WEEKENDS

Currently we expect the programme to pretty closely follow the order of the 2019 schedule, hopefully with the inclusion again of 2019’s very popular Fetish River Cruise, video from which we’re pleased to be able to present below in this October Video Special.

But what many may have already spotted is that next year’s Berlin dates — May 20-24 — clash head-on with two other international fetish weekends.

Fetish Factory’s 25th Anniversary event — now called Florida Fetish Weekend and surely America’s best fetish weekend — takes place on May 20–24. 

And BoundCon, Munich’s big annual BDSM fest, is scheduled for May 22-24.

This is the second time in recent years that these three events have clashed. And it’s not surprising that fetish folk who would have liked to attend more than one of them have asked why the organisers of these big events don’t make a point of avoiding such conflicts.

For the past few years, GFB Weekend has successfully established itself around Ascension Day Weekend, a German holiday weekend one week before Whitsun.

While we can’t yet provide details of next year’s GFB programme, we can give you an early glimpse of what might reasonably be expected, courtesy of the first Fetishistas videos released from this year’s GFB Weekend, which took place from May 29 to June 2.

This year in Berlin, our Swedish video team was back up to full strength, with Kari Berg (a previous GFB Mistress of Ceremonies) rejoining cameraman Nikdesign and regular presenter Peter Monochrome as a second presenter/interviewer.

The 2019 GFB Weekend kicked off (see video above) with Kinky Cocktails, co-hosted this year by the GFB and The Fetishistas at a new rooftop venue on Mercedes Platz.

The event got so packed that the opportunities

GFB veterans know the later the weekend falls, the warmer the Berlin weather is likely to be.

And a GFB that straddles the end of May and the start of June (as this year) is about as good as it gets.

All therefore augured well for the reprise of the GFB Fetish River Cruise on Thursday May 30, and the 90+ tickets sold out very quickly.

Our final video in the first batch of  GFB 2019 releases sees Kari Berg in the chair for a chat at the German Fetish Fair with Ola, the engineer/designer behind new metal restraint — sorry, jewellery — brand Swedish Collar. 

Kari loves collars. So she was understandably excited to find a new maker of high quality, beautifully engineered neckwear based in her home country.

Every aspect of these designs has been thought through afresh, from the contouring that follows the real shape of a human neck to the ingenious yet simple locking mechanisms.

Unsurprisingly, such luxury comes at a cost. Prices (inc VAT) range from €769 for the 50mm thickness, black-anodised aluminium model through €799 for the 50mm stainless steel to €1,199 for the 40mm bronze — with many size and finish options in between.
