Boutique Bazaar Valentines: latex, leather, lingerie, love.
The Boutique Bazaar Valentines special on Sunday January 31 marks the eighth time this alternative shopping event has popped up in London’s trendy Shoreditch. Produced by Torture Garden and Wasted Chic, it will present around 40 designers of latex, leather, lingerie, jewellery, toys and accessories all offering goodies for Valentines celebrations and beyond. Taking place as usual at sumptuous Shoreditch venue McQueen, the event — tagged Valentine’s Decadence — opens its doors on Sunday January 31 between 1pm and 7pm to offer visitors a curated selection of around 40 designers representing ‘all things daring’.
Le Boutique Bazaar is jointly produced by Torture Garden, in the personage of Charlotte TG, and by pop-up powerhouse Wasted Chic, whose proprietrix is Alexandra Houston.
Popping up three or four times a year since its launch in September 2014, LBB has become a prime London destination for stylists, performers, naughty kittens, dramatic fashionistas, fetishistas and curious people of all types.
With its alt-fashion and young designer-orientated ethos, it offers a substantially different shopping experience from the regular monthly fetish fairs within and outside the capital.
As one regular LBB vendor quipped: “The typical visitor is young, female, dressed to impressed and actually looking to spend money. It’s refreshingly bereft of ponytailed blokes with whips dangling from their leather jeans.”
Currently Boutique Bazaar provides the best opportunity outside the expos of the major German fetish weekends to see the offerings of multiple latex labels under one roof, and meet the designers behind various UK brands.

And though latex clothing firms may make up only about a quarter of the total number of vendors at a typical LBB event, the vast majority of other exhibitors are offering stuff very much compatible with a fetish look.
At the Boutique Bazaar Valentines event, McQueen’s three floors will feature couture latex, custom corsetry, exotic jewellery, elegant millinery, luxury leather accessories and kinky toys galore.
Designers will be selling items for immediate purchase on the day, but will also be taking pre-orders, allowing you a chance to meet them, see garments in the flesh and discuss different options. It should all make purchasing that perfect ‘special item’ even easier!
Vending at Le Boutique Bazaar Valentines will be luxury lingerie brands Dolci Follie of Notting Hill, Filthy Dirty and new vendor Beautifully Undressed, plus Tamzin Lilywhite and Anita Nemkyova, who both specialise in couture leather with a fetish twist.
There’ll be latex fashion from Bondinage, Ethical Kink, Kim West, Lacing Lilith, Pandora Deluxe, TG Clothing and Zorenko London, plus lauded new-gen designers Elissa Poppy with her rubberised lace, and UK Lingerie Designer of the Year winner Selina Bond, who specialises in carbon fibre pieces.
There’ll be a dedicated ‘boudoir area’ and models from the TG fashion crew will showcase pieces from all the event’s designers during the afternoon
Previous exhibitors have included latex artist Michelle Mildenhall, Vogue featured designer The Model Traitor, haute nipple-wear (as beloved of Miley Cyrus) specialist Ruth Melbourne and V magazine-featured Darkest Star.
Other participants at past events have included pop star favourite MEAT latex, female-friendly kinky toy label Box of Grey, and LA celebrity jeweller Mariana Harutunian, who was responsible for Madonna’s Living for Love crystal bull masks.
The Boutique Bazaar Valentines shopping experience will be enhanced by a soundtrack created by guest DJs Chloe Fontaine and Jakki Degg, and completed by the availability of the usual selection of McQueen’s expertly-mixed cocktails.
There is no dresscode but visitors are encouraged to dress to impress. The most photogenic will be invited into the LBB pop-up portrait studio operated by Gothic Image.
GI’s photography at last October’s event provided February’s cover picture (also this article’s banner image) featuring Marie Devilreux, as well as the page-header image and a dedicated GI gallery.
So who knows: get yourself photographed in the LBB studio and you too could end up as a Fetishistas cover star!
Le Boutique Bazaar Valentines event takes place on Sunday January 31 from 1pm to 7pm at McQueen Shoreditch, 55 Tabernacle Street, EC2A 4AA. Entry: £7 on the door or £5 if you click ‘going’ on Facebook.
