Amentium Rewired features the label’s first latex styles for men.
After two years of market research, Amentium designer Helen Teiman reckoned she’d established what men wanted from latex fashion, and set out to create her first men’s styles for her new Rewired collection. The range includes new women’s styles too, and a number of the garments are also available in simpler form in her Back to Basics range. When we asked designer Helen Teiman for an overview of her Amentium Rewired collection launched towards the end of 2019, she gave us not just a feature breakdown of all the new styles.
She also provided us with an insight into the research that had guided the thinking behind the designs.
Helen regards Rewired as her “edgiest and harshest-looking” collection to date, “using zips for decorative purposes and not just functionality”.
The collection retains Amentium’s trademark laser-cutting, she says, “but in a much simpler form, focusing on shape and style lines”.
The inclusion by Helen of menswear in a collection for the first time came after two years of market research that finally prompted her to take the leap.
“The main feedback received during market research was that men didn’t want to look feminine and/or submissive, which they found difficult when wearing latex,” Helen says.
“So with this in mind, Rewired is a combination
of polos, t-shirts, vests, bodysuits, catsuit, cycle shorts, boxers, bootleg trousers and leggings.”
Every Rewired outfit comes in three colourways: metallic pewter, nightshade blue and black.
These common elements allow men and women to choose Rewired outfits that are harmonised, while still looking different from each other, as well as standing out on their own, adds Helen.

The set includes a number of Rewired styles that are also available in simpler Back To Basics versions that come in a range of single colours.
