Harlot and TG Clothing debut new ranges this weekend.
Saturday sees fresh life breathed into the House of Harlot and Torture Garden Clothing ranges, with new styles going online and the new TG collection on TG’s Valentines Ball catwalk. Designers Robin Archer (HoH) and Florence Druart (TGC) give us a preview
House of Harlot and its sister brand Torture Garden Clothing have been busy developing new styles for 2014, many of which will be seen for the first time at Torture Garden’s Valentines Ball on Saturday February 15.
Now under the design direction of Florence Druart, Torture Garden Clothing previewed the first of its new garments at Dominatrix in Holland late last year.
Now expanded and brought to full fruition, Florence’s first TG collection, photographed by Ester Segarra, will be available at houseofharlot.com from mid February. Our first gallery, right, offers a sneak preview of three of these exciting new TG styles, with more to be added after this Saturday’s official launch.
While retaining the creative sharpness long associated with the TG brand, the collection also features newer elements that bring a dark romance to the range, reckons the London-based design house.
“The inspiration for the collection started with stories from Japanese folklore,” Florence explains. “It spread then to demons and legends, hence the outfits’ names.
“There is a dark and magic side to the latex material that suits those imaginary creatures and I felt would suit our clientèle as well. I loved especially the tale of Jorogumo, the spider that can change its appearance into that of a seductive woman.
“I wanted to experiment with capes and shapes that would suit the witch-woman I had in mind. All of it in latex, naturally, and suitable for partying.”
Florence adds that the label is very much looking forward to showing the 12 new designs in her collection at TG’s Valentine’s Ball this coming weekend — and launching them online the same night.
“It’s always a great pleasure and a perfect opportunity to see our favourite models wearing the new designs. It should be lots of fun,” she predicts.
There are several projects Florence aims to realise this year, including a TG menswear range which she admits is long overdue.

“With the skills and talent of the House of Harlot team, it has been great developing Torture Garden Clothing and I am confident it will only grow stronger,”she adds.
House of Harlot meanwhile continues to introduce new styles in its typical vein, with emphasis on curvaceous form and titillating exhibitionism.
More styles have been added featuring HoH technical concepts like integral corsetry details, colour-contrast panelling to highlight body shape, and its usual high standards of tailoring and finish.
Not so much a new collection in a fashion-conventional sense, but rather additional pieces in a collectors’ gallery, says HoH chief Robin Archer.
“I continue to be enamoured with the curvy girl shape — titsandass, boobs and butt, and finding exciting and cheeky ways of displaying and emphasising those attributes,” he confesses.
“I may sound like an old pervert [surely not — ed], but I think, on here, that sounds like a badge of honour! I love coming up with new techniques to pull all these elements together, and engaging ideas to go beyond the conventional.”
House of Harlot has also been focusing on upgrading some long-standing favourites with improvements to cut and fit, and on bringing style and details up to date.

The massively upgraded houseofharlot.com website is proving a huge hit with customers, reflected in increased sales and enquiries.
“We have just added a mobile-friendly interface to make browsing and shopping even easier for the busy latex fan on the move,” adds Robin. Check it out on your mobile device today.
What of the future? Once again House of Harlot is working with Marc Jacobs for New York Fashion Week, and a new feather in its cap this month will be work for a leading Paris fashion house.
In July this year the movie Jupiter Ascending hits our cinema screens. HoH made more than 40 costumes for the film, several of which are featured in the current trailer.
And with some work done for the film London Fields and Terry Gilliam’s imminent The Zero Theorem, House of Harlot’s portfolio of work in the film industry grows and grows.
Look out for a future House of Harlot feature in which we take a more in-depth look at the label’s exciting work in this area. It’ll be coming to a website near you, soon!
