TICKETING TIPS
For anyone planning to attend all the GFB events, buying the GFB VIP Pass (presale only) is a valuable money-saver. It gets you into every event (except Thursday’s Kinky Cocktails and Monday’s Brunch) for a cost of €130.
If you bought separate presale tickets (plus on-the-door tickets where presale is not available) for all the events the pass covers, the total cost would be €180, so the pass would save you €50. If you waited to buy all your tickets on the door, your total outlay would be €198, so the pass would have saved you €68.
You can buy your tickets and passes from the GFB website’s tickets page (link below). You can also buy tickets from the following outlets in BERLIN: Blackstyle, Hautnah, Peter Domenie (cash only), Savage Wear (cash only) and The German Fetish Fair (on Saturday only).
Tickets are also available in HAMBURG from Inner Sanctum (cash only) and Boutique Bizarre; and in DORTMUND from DeMask Dortmund.
THURSDAY APRIL 27
GFB KINKY COCKTAILS & SAVAGE WEAR
FETISH NIGHT
8pm: Badehaus Berlin, Revaler Strasse 99, 10245 Berlin-Friedrichshain
Admission: €5 (door only)
This traditional Berlin starter from Savage Wear moves this year to new venue Badehaus Berlin in Friedrichshain, just across the tracks from Matrix.
The move makes sense given the increasing popularity of alternative first-night gatherings in the last couple of years. Fingers crossed that the new venue has better bar service (there are two bars) and fewer complaining neighbours than the old place!
There’ll be DJs, dancing, and a show (tba). Fetish dress is optional, but there’s an entry fee of €5 for the first time this year. That should keep the riff-raff out.
FRIDAY APRIL 28
GFB VIP RECEPTION/PLAY NIGHT
9pm: DarkSide Berlin, Nostizstr. 30, 10965 Berlin
Priority admission with GFB VIP Pass; some door tickets may also be available at €35 – no presale
First of the GFB’s two partner events at DarkSide combines the VIP Reception (including Champagne for those with GFB VIP passes) with all the play possibilities provided by this well-equipped and recently refurbished venue.
VIP pass-holders get priority entry, and tickets will only be available on the door if venue capacity allows.
FETISHGUERILLA REVOLUTION
10pm: KitKatClub, Köpenicker Straße 76,
10179 Berlin
GFB VIP Pass or €25 on the door – no presale
Martin Pelzer’s legendary annual party, a highlight of the weekend for many Berlin visitors, reconvenes at KitKatClub with the usual eclectic mix of DJs and a line up including fashion by Bondinage and shows by Evelyn Frantti, Hungry and Roc Rocit.
FG Revolution is the key opportunity to flaunt your fetish finery before Saturday’s Ball. FGR is included in the VIP Pass but otherwise, tickets are available on the door only — there is no separate ticket presale.
SATURDAY APRIL 29
GERMAN FETISH FAIR
12pm–8pm: Magazin in der Heeresbäckerei, Köpenicker Str. 16-17, 10997 Berlin
GFB VIP Pass, €15 presale or €18 on the door
The first day of the two-day GFF at Magazin in der Heeresbäckerei (at the street end of the complex that also houses riverside Ball venue Spindler & Klatt) is recommended as retail therapy, but is also your last chance to complete your outfit for the evening’s Ball.
At publication time, confirmed vendors are: AMF Korsets, Ardita FF, Bondinage, Chronomatic, Cyberesque, Inner Sanctum, Jaded Jewall, Kathias, Latex 101, Latex Line, Leiband ’eitschen, LLdSaxe Fashion, LOLALicious, Martin Serpentis, MPICS Media, Peter Domenie and Two-B Design.
Come the day, you can expect a full house, the majority being German vendors of clothing, accessories and toys, along with some other European brands and at least a couple more British latex labels.
For a glimpse of the sights at 2016’s Fair, see our GFF galleries and GFB 2016 video, both on page 1.
GERMAN FETISH BALL
9pm: Spindler & Klatt, Köpenicker Straße 16-17, 10997 Berlin
GFB VIP Pass, €55 presale or €60 on the door
Returning to its now well-established venue Spindler & Klatt, this year’s German Fetish Ball will be MC’d by Kari Berg, the presenter of our 2016 GFB video (see bottom of page 1).
Kari will be announcing the shows and helping promoter René to present this year’s European Fetish Awards, judged by a panel of industry experts and given for Best Fetish Fashion Design, Best Startup and Best German Brand, along with the annual Special Award that generally honours a notable individual contribution to our scene.
On the catwalk there’ll be seven latex fashion shows from Am Statik (UK), Blacklickorish Latex (US), House of Harlot UK), HW-Design (Austria), Inner Sanctum (Germany), LOLAlicious (Germany) and Pandora Deluxe (UK).
In addition there’ll be performances from Barcelona-based aerial bondage artist Miss Eris and a couple more acts to be announced.
If the weather is nice, this riverside venue really comes into its own with its outside bar at the water’s edge and, moored alongside, a large floating pontoon with lots of tables and chairs where you can relax and watch the sun come up.
SUNDAY APRIL 30
GERMAN FETISH FAIR
12pm–7pm: Magazin in der Heeresbäckerei, Köpenicker Str. 16-17, 10997 Berlin
GFB VIP Pass, €15 presale or €18 on the door
If you didn’t actually buy anything at the Fair on Saturday, Sunday is your second and last chance to access a great selection of fetish brands all under one roof (see our 2016 Fair galleries on page 1).
You didn’t hear this from us, but bargain hunters who make it to Magazin in der Heeresbäckerei today may even find some nice deals on offer from vendors who don’t want to be left with too much stock to take home!
GFB SONIC BOOM (NEW PARTY!)
9pm: Matrix, Warschauer Platz 18, 10245 Berlin
GFB VIP Pass, €25 presale or €30 on the door
In Germany, says René, April 30, aka Walpurgisnacht or Tanz in den Mai is “a very popular night to have parties”, so the date was “too good not to use”, and this new Sunday night event will occupy one half of Matrix, the old Ball venue.
The event will include shows tba, but a major aim is to give all the people who have worked so hard on the Ball — crew, models, performers, designers etc — an event “where most people don’t have to work” but instead can “relax, party and enjoy”.
Taking onboard the popularity of last year’s model-organised Karaoke Night at the karaoke bar on Warschuer Strasse, René has promised to devote an area of Matrix to karaoke so its fans can start their fun at the bar, then cross the road and carry on at Sonic Boom if they wish.
Given the general tone of informality, we’re guessing that a relaxed dresscode will apply!
GFB PLAY INTO MAY
9pm: DarkSide Berlin, Nostizstr. 30, 10965 Berlin
GFB VIP Pass, €25 presale or €30 on the door
The GFB 2017 Weekend offers a second and final opportunity to get down and dirty at DarkSide. Unlike the earlier DarkSide event, separate tickets are also available in advance as well as on the door.
MONDAY MAY 1
GFB BREAKFAST/BRUNCH & FAREWELL
11am: Cayetano, Simon-Dach-Str. 14 (Ecke Kopernikusstr.), 10245 Berlin
No price info available — assume pay-as-you-go
We’ve never yet managed to make it to the Cayetano restaurant for this event, and that’s not just because every year, the GFB website publishes ambiguous times for it. Does it start at 11am or noon? Or does it run from 10am to 3pm? Who knows?
We have, however, enjoyed dinners at Cayetano on other occasions, and if their breakfasts/brunches are anything like their evening fayre, everything will be great, just great.
