CHAIN MALE: BoundCon exhibitor reveals one way of keeping an attractive girlfriend (Uwe Schwinghammer)

BoundCon VI: building on its ties with Munich?

While TG celebrated its birthday in London, a different kind of kinky gathering was convening in Bavaria. Uwe Schwinghammer thinks on this year’s showing, Munich’s BoundCon is shaping up as a serious rival for Germany’s ‘big two’ fetish fests

Is there another fetish event in Germany poised to achieve international status? Well, it could be that BoundCon, in the south of the country, is only one step away.

This year’s bondage and BDSM expo in Munich, with its two official BoundCon parties, proved to be a very attractive programme for visitors from all over Europe and even some from the US.

Between May 15 and 17 (the same weekend as Torture Garden’s Birthday Ball in London), more than 100 exhibitors in Munich’s Zenith-Halle showed the latest fetish fashions, the newest toys, the heaviest tools… and of course their skills in bondaging.

And the registration of nearly 140 models broke all records. Even if not all of them showed up. Well known names who did attend included Eden Wells, Pupett and the Rubbersisters.

But besides the main events of BoundCon VI, there where two more attractions which made the journey to Munich even more interesting.

On Friday evening, local fetish photographer SPO invited us to an event called SPO’s Fetish Lounge Goes BoundCon. And on Saturday, just next door to the Zenith-Halle, the Sub Rosa Dictum party took place in the Kesselhaus.

The latter venue has an industrial charm similar to that of MudiaArt, which hosted the Fetish Evolution Ball in Essen until this year.

In former times, the Kesselhaus provided the heat for the surrounding workshops of the German Federal Railways, and all its cool-looking metal boilers and other stuff have been retained. So it was the perfect place for more than 600 kinky people to dance, drink and play.

So who knows? Maybe next year’s BoundCon VII could become a serious competitor for Fetish Evolution and GFB.
